Our Why 

Our mission at High Tide is rooted in bringing a people-first approach to technology. Leading with the ultimate goal of empowering organizations to drive impact, we are especially grateful to work with incredible educational institutions like the University of the Ozarks (UOzarks). This project exemplifies the impact we aim to have on the world–leveraging technology to improve access to education and empower students and faculty alike. This collaboration marked a significant transformation in UOzarks’ operations, laying the groundwork for growth, efficiency, and a better student experience. 

The University of the Ozarks

University of the Ozarks, a private, four-year liberal arts institution located in Clarksville, Arkansas, is known for its mission to help students forge their own paths. UOzarks fosters intellectual curiosity, social growth, and spiritual development in its students. However, the administrative side of the university's operations had room for improvement. Outdated processes created challenges that hindered their impact and growth potential. 

Understanding the Problem 

The challenges UOzarks faced were all too familiar to universities striving to stay relevant in today’s tech-driven world. 

  1. Outdated Platforms

Their existing platform, EDA (Education Data Architecture), couldn’t keep pace with the university’s growing administrative demands. Outdated data management tools led to inefficiencies, lost productivity, and a fragmented view of their prospective and current students. 

  1. Data Silos

Compartmentalized systems made it difficult to track interactions with prospects, applicants, and students. Information was scattered and not always accessible to the right stakeholders, leading to missed engagement opportunities. 

  1. Manual Processes

The staff spent countless hours on repetitive tasks that could be automated, taking time away from mission-critical activities. Annualized, this represents tens of thousands of labor hours that could have been reinvested into enhancing the student experience. 

The High Tide Approach 

Our collaborative approach at High Tide meant partnering with the UOzarks team every step of the way to ensure they were equipped to succeed long after go-live. 

Here’s how High Tide refreshed UOzarks’ operations using Salesforce solutions:

  1. Implemented Salesforce Experience Cloud: We used this platform to develop an applicant portal where applicants can log in, submit applications, and ask questions, shortening the turnaround time and allowing us to more closely track data. 

  2. Implemented Salesforce Education Cloud: We enabled features like Person Accounts and Academic Records, ensuring that administrators gained a clear and centralized view of applicants and students. 

  3. Integrated Marketing Cloud Account Engagement: By implementing Pardot within Salesforce, UOzarks gained the capability to run smarter, automated campaigns to better understand and engage with prospective and current students. 

  4. Customized Automation: We designed automated flows, such as opportunity-based funnel management and automated Action Plan creation for admissions applications. This saved countless admin hours over the course of the admissions cycle. 

  5. Enhanced Usability: From homepage dashboards to resource allocation tools, we customized the platform to prioritize what mattered most to UOzarks’ team. 

  6. Training and Enablement: We provided extensive training sessions to the UOzarks team to ensure staff felt confident in their new system. 

The Results 

The results of High Tide’s collaboration with UOzarks were transformative. 

  • Reduced Manual Tasks: By automating routine tasks, staff were able to refocus their efforts on strategic initiatives, recapturing countless hours annually. 

  • Improved Data Accessibility: Centralized data meant faster decision-making and improved communication across departments.
